Born as Edward
Harrison Leslie on April 21, 1957 in Tampa, Florida, Brutus started weight
training seriously at age 17 with his best friend Terry Bollea, aka Hulk Hogan.
Always a big fan of wrestling, Brutus attended local wrestling events from an
early age. Then at age 20, Brutus left junior college to become a pro wrestler
with Hulk. Billed as "Terry and Eddy Boulder," a brother wrestling team, his
first professional wrestling match was in Panama City, Florida. Brutus’ first
big break came in 1983 in New York, where he joined the World Wresting
Federation.
This was the birth of "Brutus Beefcake." In 1987 during Wrestlemania 3’s match-up of Rody Piper and Adrian Adonis, Brutus became known as
"the Barber" when he helped Rody hold down Adrian and shave his head. In 1993, Brutus jumped ship and joined forces with the World Championship Wrestling organization, where he wrestled until the turn of the century.
No stranger to the spotlight, Brutus went on to appear in numerous shows as Hulk’s body double and stunt double in the TV series, Thunder in Paradise. He also had a role in the made-for-TV TNT movie series Shadow Warriors 1 and 2.
